Volunteer with us!
We are always excited to welcome new members to Clean Air Nebraska. Not only does our volunteer team make a difference in our communities, but we also create safer social spaces through our meetings, decreasing isolation and barriers to connection in the ongoing pandemic. CAN volunteers meet virtually once a month, and we spend an average of .5 to 5 hours a week on tasks.

There are many
ways to support CAN!
Volunteer roles include tasks in outreach, lending library coordination, treasury, communications, program coordination, project management, internal operations, and more! In addition to operating a lending library, we create educational resources, connect people to existing resources, and we can give presentations and host events.
To inquire about being a volunteer, please fill out the Clean Air Nebraska Volunteer Form. At this time, we especially seek volunteers that can distribute materials, which requires driving, lifting, and carrying large items.
We ask that all volunteers read the CAN Handbook in full. Thank you for your interest in joining CAN! We will email you if we think you’d be a good fit for our growing organization.
Donations
make our mission
possible…
… and go directly toward making Nebraska communities safer! Breathing clean air and having access to masks and tests should not be limited by income. We prioritize offering tools that are both free and high-quality, which limits viral transmission and provides cleaner air in public spaces. This builds a more equitable community and offers a higher quality of life for everyone
Clean-air tools such as air purifiers and far-UVC lights can be found in our lending library. We hope to expand their availability to many more communities in Nebraska. We can only accomplish this with your help! As we grow our distribution capacity, having surplus donations will enable us to host pop-up events, and help us to be flexible and prompt in our response to a crisis. Members of CAN are volunteers and are not paid. Our monthly operating budget is [fill in].
At present, CAN does not have nonprofit status. If you wish to make a tax deductible 501(c)3 donation, please email us at CleanAirNebraska@gmail.com so that we can connect you with our nonprofit fiscal sponsor!
Stay tuned for the launch of our crowdfunding campaign!
Spread the word!
A free and easy way to support our organization is by spreading the word about what we do! Here are some ideas for helping us ensure Nebraskans know about our services:
Follow us on social media. We are on Instagram and Bluesky @CleanAirNebraska. Like, save, share, and send our posts!
If you are attending an event, please send event hosts CAN information and ask that they reserve air purification tools to use! [link to Airtable]
If you are an event host, partner with us by reserving lending library tools. This will make your event more accessible, inclusive, and safer! Link to Omaha Lending Library Request Form. Link to Lincoln Lending Library Request Form.
Lending library tools are available for both private and public events. Whether you’re hosting Sunday brunch in your apartment or planning a show, you can reserve our tools, free of charge. If you use our lending library, give us feedback or tag us in any photos you post!
Share our resources with friends, family, collaborators, and co-workers! This can help them understand why you are using our lending library or why you may want to purchase and use these tools in your own spaces!
